Hi, I'm Caliph.
I help high school students take ownership of their choices, their habits, and their future.
High school is where everything starts to count—academically, socially, and personally. It’s also where many students face real pressure: mental health challenges, peer influence, bullying, and decisions that can shape the direction of their lives.
I know that firsthand—because high school is where I made some of the decisions I later had to fight to overcome.
Today, as an attorney and graduate of UCLA School of Law, a former Student Body President at UC Davis, someone who has worked in admissions at UCLA Law, and as a career counselor at University of San Diego School of Law, I’ve seen the full path students are on—from where they are now to where they want to go.
But I’m not just here as a success story.
I share my journey through addiction, bullying, mental health struggles, and recovery to show students something deeper: while their circumstances matter, their decisions matter more.
I’m not just a warning about what can go wrong—I’m an example of what’s possible when students learn to take ownership and follow through.
My goal is simple: to help students build the awareness, discipline, and confidence they need to make better decisions now—so they can create the future they actually want.

How I Help Students
Designed for students navigating real pressure, growing independence, and choices that carry lasting impact.
High school is where choices start to carry real weight. Students are navigating increasing pressure, independence, and decisions around identity, mental health, and substance use—often without fully understanding the long-term impact.
I help students understand two things at the same time: what can pull them off track—and what will move them forward.
Through my presentations, students gain the awareness and discipline they need to make better decisions, protect their mental health, and stay focused on their long-term goals in college, career, and life.
🧠 Understand Mental Health and Internal Pressure
Students learn to recognize stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges—and how those experiences influence their behavior and decision-making.
⚠️ Avoid Choices That Can Derail Their Future
Students gain a clear understanding of how substance use and negative coping patterns develop—and how those decisions can impact their goals, relationships, and opportunities.
🎯 Stay Focused on College and Career Goals
Students connect their daily choices to their future, understanding how discipline, effort, and consistency create real opportunities after high school.
🚀 Take Ownership of Their Direction
Students shift from reacting to pressure to making intentional decisions that align with who they want to become.

How I Work With Students
🎯 Keynote Presentations
Helping students make better decisions, navigate pressure, and stay on track for their future.
Through engaging, honest, and relatable storytelling, students gain a clear understanding of how their choices—especially in moments of pressure—shape their mental health, behavior, and long-term outcomes.
#You Decide
Helping students understand how their choices—especially in difficult moments—shape their future.
In this powerful and honest keynote, Caliph shares his personal journey through early exposure to drug culture, addiction, and the mental health struggles that followed. As a student, he first used substances in an attempt to avoid abuse, later to fit in and build connections, and eventually as a way to cope with deep emotional pain, including the loss of his mother during college.
What began as a way to survive quickly became a pattern that pulled him further off track.
Through candid storytelling, students see how substance use and negative coping behaviors don’t happen all at once—but develop over time through repeated decisions made under pressure, pain, and uncertainty.
Caliph shares the moment his life changed—when he came face-to-face with the reality that his choices, not his circumstances, were determining his path. That realization gave him the power to take ownership, rebuild his mindset, and ultimately change the direction of his life.
Rather than focusing only on consequences, this presentation helps students understand how their daily decisions impact their mental health, relationships, opportunities, and future—and how to make choices that align with who they want to become.
Students leave with:
- A clear understanding of how substance use and coping behaviors develop
- Awareness of how mental health challenges influence decision-making
- Tools to make better decisions in moments of pressure
- A sense of ownership over their actions, habits, and future
🎓 College & Career Readiness Talks / Workshops
Helping students connect their daily choices to real opportunities after high school.
Students often think about college and careers as something far off—but the decisions they make in high school are already shaping those outcomes.
In these sessions, students learn how to take advantage of the opportunities available to them now, including dual enrollment, career pathways, extracurricular activities, internships, and work experience.
They begin to understand that success after high school isn’t accidental—it’s built through intentional choices, consistent effort, and a willingness to take ownership of their future.
Students learn how to:
- Connect their daily habits and decisions to long-term goals
- Take advantage of opportunities like dual enrollment and career pathways
- Use extracurriculars, internships, and work experience to build real-world skills
- Stay focused and disciplined in the face of distractions and pressure
- Turn high school into a strong foundation for college, career, and life.
